Importing into Substance




  • make sure you're out of sub-object mode
  • click and drag assigned color to multi-subobject and onto model from Slate Material Editor
  • In Slate Material Editor: 
  • -create a multi-subobject
  • -create 4 shaded materials; link self-illumination to multi-subobject (red, blue, yellow and green) parameters - ambient and diffuse set to specified color and then, under self-illumination, type in "100"



  • If you apply the Material Multi/Sub Object to your meshes, the material IDs will appear when you import into Substance Painter.
