Importing into Substance

make sure you're out of sub-object mode click and drag assigned color to multi-subobject and onto model from Slate Material Editor In Slate Material Editor:  -create a multi-subobject -create 4 shaded materials; link self-illumination to multi-subobject (red, blue, yellow and green) parameters - ambient and diffuse set to specified color and then, under self-illumination, type in "100" If you apply the Material Multi/Sub Object to your meshes, the material IDs will appear when you import into Substance Painter.

Selecting Normal Maps. Importing normal maps - where your normals will go (unity, unreal, etc.) UE4 computes the fragment in the pixel shader. to match that, we do this in substance (compute tangent)
